Praised for her pure-tone singing, Amy Lloyd is a mezzo-soprano who specializes in church music.
Amy's solo performances feature repertoire from early to contemporary composers, including chants "Pange lingua gloriosi corposis mysterium" (St. Thomas Aquinas) and "Alma Redemptoris Mater" (Hermannus Contractus) to 20th century compositions "The Monk And His Cat" and "The Crucifixion" of Samuel Barber's Hermit Songs.
Amy's choral experiences include Spem in alium nunquam habui (Tallis); Wachet auf, BWV 140 (J.S. Bach); and Mass in C, K. 317 "Coronation Mass" (Mozart); as well as the requiems of Faure, Mozart, Rutter, and Paul Leavitt. She served as a chorister with The Maryland Choral Society and Voce Chamber Singers, and while living in Indianapolis, she sang in professional ensembles for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Pops.
In 2013, Amy released her first contemporary Christian album, All I Need, which is available on all major digital distribution websites. After the album's release, she launched a solo concert ministry, traveling to churches as a guest worship artist. Her singer-songwriter EP, Never Alone, is scheduled to release October 29, 2021.
Amy holds a Maryland Educator Certificate in music and agriculture. She first earned a bachelor of science in agricultural education from the University of Illinois and enjoyed a career as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill. As a stay-at-home mom, she enrolled in voice lessons at the College of Southern Maryland (CSM), which served as a springboard for further music studies at CSM and Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She shares her passion for music as a sought-after teacher of voice and piano in Southern Maryland.
