For several months I endured pain in my abdominal area while singing and doing other physical activities. It became significant enough that I was on extended voice rest. Over the summer this pain was diagnosed as a core muscle injury, formerly known as a sports hernia. My injury was surgically repaired in July, and I've been recovering with physical therapy.
The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He has dedicated 25 years to pioneering the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of core muscle injuries and regularly performs surgery on professional athletes.
